1 pedestrian killed, 1 seriously injured after they’re hit in N.J. intersection

One pedestrian was killed and another seriously injured after they were struck at an intersection in Morris County on Monday morning, officials said.

The two pedestrians were walking east across Ridgedale Avenue in Florham Park shortly after 11 a.m. when they were hit by a vehicle turning left from Brooklake Road, Florham Park police said.

The driver stopped and spoke to police.

One of the pedestrians was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The person was not immediately identified. Police said, “we are truly saddened by the unnecessary loss of a community member today.”

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam or video of the incident is asked to call Lt. Dan Bundschuh at 973-410-5375.
