North Bergen ‘Water Olympics’ a cool way to spend sizzling hot day (PHOTOS)

If there was ever a day to lose a water gun fight, Monday was it.

With temps sizzling in the mid-1990s, North Bergen youngsters were cooled off by members of the North Bergen Police Department during an event described as the township’s annual “Water Olympics” for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade.

There was a dunk tank and water slide, a couple fire hoses, plenty of water guns, and no shortage of water at Bruins Stadium in James J. Braddock North Hudson Park.

Mostly there was an all-out water fight, with plenty of friendly fire to keep everyone cooled off.
