$16K in tools stolen from Jersey City construction site

Thousands of dollars in tools were stolen from a Jersey City construction site sometime over the weekend.

The theft was reported at 342 Johnston Ave., an eight-story, 55-unit building under construction, just after 6 a.m. Monday.

Sometime between Friday afternoon and Monday morning, the assailants apparently cut a chain to get into the property and then broke a window to get into the tool shed, police said in radio transmissions.
