Tri-County Conference Boys Volleyball Player of the Year and Postseason Honors, 2024

Tri-County Conference Season in Review, 2024

Player of the Year: Josh Akinwale, Williamstown

Akinwale was one of the best defensive players in the state this season as Williamstown formed its defense around him. His 90 blocks were the fourth most in the state and the most in boys program history for Williamstown. He made a massive jump to get to that number from the 49 he collected as a junior with this season being just his second ever year of varsity action. The 11 blocks he finished with on May 3 against Lenape is his career-high, and he had more games this with more than one block (20) than he had with just one block (seven). He also led the Braves in kills with 154 and can cause a defense to stress as he’s an ambidextrous hitter. Akinwale was by far one of the rawest players in the state that was incredibly dominant at times.
