Paramus’ first match of the season gave us a preview of what could have been the heavyweight state final.
Senior Dan Elyash was trailing No. 1-ranked St. Joseph (Mont.) junior Rocco Dellagatta 2-1 in the second period when Elyash heard a crack in his knee. It hurt for the Davidson commit to even get to his feet, and he was forced to injury default.
