Fifth-seeded Pingry completed its first-ever state title run with a narrow 2-1 win over third-seeded Immaculate Heart in the NJSIAA Girls state championship game at Prudential Center in Newark.

Pingry, which entered the state tournament below .500, went on an impressive win which included a dramatic overtime win over perennial powerhouse Morristown-Beard in the semifinals.
