After finishing the giant slalom about three-tenths of a second slower than Delbarton, Pingry knew it had a hill to climb to become state champions. Ironically enough, its skill of going down a hill led Pingry to victory as it finished with a score of 11:38.15, beating out Delbarton (11:45.28) and Pope John (12:53.47).
