Skiing: Delbarton boys, Tenafly girls take giant slalom titles at NJISRA team championships (PHOTOS)

Delbarton took first for the boys as the Tenafly girls collected gold in the giant slalom at the NJISRA team racing championships at Winter4Kids in Vernon.

Maddie Cho of Tenafly was the fastest girls individual with a total two-run time of 1:12.73 while Brandon Hawks of Morristown-Beard collected identical runs of 35.37 to add up to 1:10.74 as the fastest boys time.

Behind Cho for the Tigers was Megan (1:14.42) and Kristen Yi (1:16.66) along with Kendall Gordon (1:26.76). Rounding out the rest of the top three in the team standings in the girls event was Pingry and Ridge.

Despite Hawks’s top time for the boys, Morristown-Beard placed fourth as a team. Thomas Johnson (1:12.35), Evan Dolan (1:14.00), Louis Friedrich (1:14.76) and Ryan Johnson (1:22.07) made up the Delbarton winning team.

Pingry and Vernon took second and third in the boys team standings, respectively.

Camille (1:13.79) and Rosemary Collins (1:13.87) of Pingry, the aforementioned Megan Yi and Ridge’s Marisa Tomaru (1:14.90) were the other four fastest girls two-run times. Matt Tavares (1:11.00) of Ridge, Dylan (1:11.72) and Tobey Jay (1:12.11) of Pingry and Thomas Johnson who we mentioned earlier had the top five boys two-run times.
