Michael Strahan made a name for himself during his Hall of Fame New York Giants career, and he parlayed that status into a bigger one during his second act as a television host, where he has become a part of the viewing routine for many Americans — except for lately.
The omnipresent Strahan has been missing from his perch as a host on “Good Morning America,” which is watched by millions during the weekdays, since June 21. It has raised concern from many of his fans because his daughter is battling cancer and none of his colleagues has broached what seems to be a mysterious absence.

So where is he? On Wednesday, Decider reported, citing a “source familiar with the matter,” Strahan is simply “away on vacation.” He is expected to be back on the airwaves during the week of July 7, according to Decider, which is owned by the New York Post Digital Network.
To fill Strahan’s anchor spot, ABC has turned to correspondents Rebecca Jarvis and Gio Benitez to be alongside George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts.
Strahan’s 19-year-old daughter Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a cancerous brain tumor found in the cerebellum, in October. She has spent the past several months vlogging her cancer journey. Isabella and Michael revealed her diagnosis in a “Good Morning America” segment with Robin Roberts in January, and on June 19, she finished her final round of chemotherapy.
