A popular New Jersey sandwich shop chain that President Barack Obama once visited has shuttered one of its locations.

Tastee Sub Shop closed its Lawrence Township location Wednesday after more than 12 years in business, an employee confirmed to NJ Advance Media.

When reached by NJ Advance Media on Wednesday, employees at the location would not disclose the reason for the closure.

The sub shop got its start in 1963 in Edison and went on to open locations in Lawrence Township and Franklin Park. President Obama paid a visit to the chain’s flagship Edison location in 2010 for a meeting with owners of four small New Jersey business to discuss a proposed tax credit.

Obama ordered a half-size “Super Sub,” a monstrous sandwich featuring pressed ham, boiled ham, salami, cappacola, prosciuttini and cheese. Unsurprisingly, there was a spike in business at Tastee Sub Shop following Obama’s visit.

Tastee Shop Shop’s menu features 16 different sandwich options served in half (8-inch) or whole (16-inch) sizes featuring turkey, pepperoni, roast beef, tuna, bologna, meatballs, sausage and more.

The Edison and Franklin Park locations remain open.
