Popular pop group Boys World are breaking up after five years. The band consists of Queenie Mae, Lilian Kay, Olivia Ruby, Elana Caceres and Makhyli.
The all-girls group, which became popular on TikTok in 2020, announced in a letter on social media that they were disbanding due to “things that are out of our control.”
“Dear Stars, After five unforgettable years of music, friendship and memories, we are sadly announcing the disbandment of Boys World. Since 2019, when we first started this group, we’ve grown and accomplished so many of our dreams and aspirations. We had the opportunity to travel around the world, perform our music together and meet so many beautiful people along the way,” the letter read.
“As we reflect on the memories we’ve created together — the laughter, the tears, and the moments that we will remember forever — we find solace knowing that our time together was filled with joy and camaraderie,” the letter continued. “Each member of Boys World has grown not just as artists but as sisters, learning from each other and becoming stronger together. We are extremely grateful for these years together.”
“Change can be scary and uncomfortable,” the letter also read. “But it can also be incredibly exciting. It can open doors to opportunities and creative possibilities we’ve never imagined.”
The band ended the concluded the letter by thanking its fans and asking for continued support for each of its members.
“Though this may be goodbye for now, our music will always live on and so will our friendship,” the letter closed. “Girlfriends forever.”
