N.J. teacher sexually assaulted student in car, sent nude photos of herself, authorities say

A now former high school teacher sexually assaulted a student multiple times — including in his car — and sent him nude photographs of herself, a court document says.

Wall High School teacher Julie A. Rizzitello, 36, of Brick had sexual contact with the student on numerous occasions between April and June 14, according to an affidavit of probable cause outlining the charges against her.

Rizzitello and the student, who had turned 18, had sexual contact in his car in Brick on May 14, authorities allege. She later sent him nude photos, officials said. They also met in Belmar, Brick and Wall, prosecutors allege.

The two also had “numerous communications” that were sexual in nature, the court document said.

Rizzitello is charged two counts of sexual assault, three counts of criminal sexual contact and a single count of witness tampering. She was an English teacher, according to a since-deleted profile of her on the district’s website.

Her attorney, Francis Hodgson, wasn’t available to comment, a person who answered the phone at his Toms River office said Friday afternoon.

Rizzitello was hired in 2013 and was paid an annual salary of $62,156 before resigning from her job.

Rizzitello was booked into the Monmouth County jail in Freehold Township earlier this week. She was still being held at the jail Friday, according to a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office.

Her detention hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
