Ex-N.J. superintendent’s whistleblower lawsuit tossed by judge

A Superior Court judge has dismissed a former Ocean County superintendent’s whistleblower lawsuit after years of litigation for the school district.

Walter Uszenski, the former Brick schools superintendent, his daughter, Jacqueline Halsey, and Uszenski’s grandson sued the Brick Board of Education in September 2018.

Multiple other people, including other school officials and the former mayor, were named as defendants in the case, but they were eliminated through various legal motions and rulings, leaving the school board as the remaining defendant, according to the Asbury Park Press, which first reported the lawsuit’s dismissal.
