When I left the Giants’ beat in the middle of last season, they were 2-8 and had been outscored by 148 points. It was hard to imagine covering a team that either looked worse or had more bad luck than them.

Remember, this was a team that opened its season against the Cowboys with a nicely orchestrated 11-play drive that left them facing a third-and-2 from the Dallas 8-yard line.
