South Jersey man who sexually assaulted 5 children gets prison sentence

A man who admitted earlier this year he sexually assaulted five children has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Jesus Figueroa, 58, of Vineland, was sentenced on Friday to five 10-year terms, which will all run concurrently, the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release. He pleaded guilty to all five counts of second-degree sexual assault on Feb. 21.

He was charged with the crimes in 2022 after it was alleged that he sexually assaulted five girls over a ten-year period. All of the victims were under the age of 13 at the time of the abuse, prosecutors said.

Under the No Early Release Act, Figueroa will have to serve at least 85% of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. After he is released, he will have to register as a sex offender and will be subject to parole supervision for life.
