Hyde Park Reviews
Rating 4.07 out of 5 121 reviews
I loved living in hyde park, rent is cheap and everything is accessible. I lived rigth next to my work so I had zero commute. Its important to know that Hyde park is its own oasis and the public transportation options are relatively dirty and unsafe. Also, the area is pretty nice but south of the midway Plaisance is less safe. I lived there for four years. Got mugged once by a punk teenager and there was a homeless man who would sleep in our stairwell regularly that I had to call the police to remove him. Other than those incidents the area is lovely with many coffee shops and virtue resturant is amazing.
I enjoy living in Hyde Park. Hyde Park's diverse population is reflected in its culinary scene. From trendy cafes to international cuisine, a wide range of dining options suit every palate. The environment, stores, and parks create many opportunities for activities. One of Hyde Park's most notable features is its affiliation with the prestigious University of Chicago. The presence of the university brings a wealth of cultural events, lectures, and performances to the neighborhood, contributing to its dynamic character. Lakefront access is a major highlight of Hyde Park. Residents and visitors can enjoy scenic views of Lake Michigan, along with recreational activities like biking, jogging, or simply relaxing on the beaches during warmer months. Overall, I would highly recommend others to visit Hyde Park and appreciate it's culture, history, and community.
Hyde Park is quite the unique town in Chicago. Although a neighborhood, I consider it a town because of the immense consumerism present with every other street filled to the brim with new places to visit and shop. Hyde Park feels vibrant and special compared to the surrounding areas of the city.
