Zionsville Community High School Reviews
Rating 3.83 out of 5 463 reviews
Overall, my time at ZCHS so far has been great! I have met some of the best people and feel welcomed by the kind teachers and staff. I have truly felt cared for by the teachers and administration around me which makes it easy to ask for help. There are definitely still certain rules and minor things that don't exactly fit with me, but they are nothing overwhelming.
Zionsville Community High School is a vibrant place from the moment you step in the door. Few schools offer the amount of academic rigor Zionsville does in all echelons of specialty, ranging from its new top-of-the-line engineering and art classrooms, state-of-the-art sports stadium and performing arts center, or its apprenticeship program with J. Everett Light Career Center. In terms of college and career readiness, it stands virtually second to none in Indiana. However, this experience is exclusive, in a good and bad way. A Zionsville student paints a picture of a perfect, all-American kid. Straying from this image frequently leads to ostracization, and I have witnessed it firsthand. Particularly on the sports teams, athletes make it known if you don't belong. Things you can't control, like being too "gay", not white, or even too short are unfortunately disadvantages in Zionsville. The school's administration preaches an "everybody belongs" mantra, but they have a long way to go.
Overall, my experience with Zionsville Community High School has been nothing but extremely positive. When I go to school, I feel extremely welcome and safe. Teachers, faculty, and administration are extremely knowledgeable and friendly, willing to help with anything and everything. The facilities are extremely nice, always being well-kept and comfortable spaces for all students. I feel very safe and comfortable at school, and I love going to ZCHS. There is nothing I would change about Zionsville Community High School, as I feel like everything about it is welcoming and accessible for all students and staff.
