The atmosphere was very dull going into my Freshman year… a lack of guidance and an overall welcoming was immensely apparent.
The safety was subpar, kids were found smuggling drugs into the restrooms which they were only found out when another peer reported them.
The education was varied across the board, some teachers left me inspired and wanted to pursue a further education in their area of study while others left me wanting nothing more than to leave their classroom. James Gaddy comes to mind as one of the most influential teachers during my high school career. He gave extensive speeches going above and beyond what any teacher would do.

My experience was very good all things considered. I never had a problem meeting new people and making new friends. Everyone had a positive attitude and had good relationships with the teachers. The best parts about the school were the amount of people, with so many people it's easy to becoming friends with anyone. The worst parts had to have been the amount of diversity, there didn't seem to be enough of it. While the amount of people causes for a lot of different personalities, the reality of it is that there isn't a whole lot of racial diversity. What I could see change, would definitely be the diversity be broadened. It feels a little too bland.
I have loved Westfield High School. I have noticed that our school is extremely safe and very academic-focused. I also love the amount of classes we can choose from. I can easily figure out what major I want to go for in college. The worst part would probably be freshman year when I was not able to choose classes that satisfied what I wanted; however, the rest of my time here has been amazing. I think the only thing I could change is the idea of being able to choose your classes a little bit more during freshman year.
