From Upper Room Christian School

Upper Room Christian School goes from Pre- Kindergarten through 12th grade and features a full-day kindergarten program; a developmental elementary school and professional, caring Christian teachers in a Christ-centered environment. Upper Room Christian School offers daily Bible/Devotional classes to all students; a weekly Chapel Service; specialty classes, including: Art, Music, Physical Education, Computer Education, Driver's Education, Foreign Language Classes, high school Science Labs, Band, Choir and Health. URCS offers college guidance; NYS Regents Exams and both NYS Regents and local diplomas. Upper Room Christian School has an extensive tutoring program and a comprehensive special education program, including district-provided Resource Room for IEP students. URCS accepts International students. Upper Room Christian School features College level math courses as part of a Cooperative Extension Program with St. John's University, as well as several A.P. courses.

I sent my four daughters there and they are all doing well spiritually, professionally and personally! I am very satisfied!!

Review Upper Room Christian School

Not sure if these good reviews are fake but Upper Room is a literal piece of flaming garbage and I wouldn't recommend any parent sending their kids here, especially if they are a high school student (coming from a former student). First of all they have extremely limited resources and are underfunded. Upper Room has no lunch room, no library, and no playground for the younger kids to go outside (recess is literally indoors all year). The school is in a basement underneath a church and has no heating or ac. In the winters it's extremely freezing in there and students are not allowed to wear any coverings or sweatshirts besides the thin sweater that's apart of the uniform. Upper Room also has no security guard, and so many people go in and out of that building since so many students order uber eats. The only thing closest to a security guard is the receptionist who locks and unlocks the door. The school only has one sport (basketball). I'll post pt. 2

(Pt. 2) This school has no PSAT's which leaves students on their own to prep for an SAT. They don't offer AP or Honors courses, so even the smartest student I've known got stuck in class with kids who are failing every course. You aren't allowed to pick your own courses either and some kids end up repeating classes they previously took in other schools because Upper Room doesn't have the budget to afford other classes. Most of the students have been held back a year in previous schools then come to upper room. It's like a reform school with no reform. Many of their high school students have an average under 75%, which led a lot of them to be kicked off sports teams. The teachers dont teach but instead ramble about their personal lives and barely give out tests. Spanish class is watching netflix with spanish subtitles. They have an incosistent following and many students leave mid schoolyear. This school used to be great in the 90's and early 2000's but it really needs to close asap.
