Independent Science Research and Eco Fellows Present Research and Projects at Symposium
Thirty-nine Upper School students participated in the ISR Fellows program, collaborating with researchers at Columbia Medical Center, Weill Cornell Medicine Meyer Cancer Center, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. My older daughter is finishing up her lower school year and my younger daughter will join this fall in kindergarten. We are so excited to have the whole family there! We love the community, faculty and diversity. We love the music and dance program. Only suggestion I might have is for lower school to have its own outdoor playground area like Nightingale does.
When we toured Spence in November, it was the only school where we saw the students looking happy and not burnt out. We noticed this everywhere - Kindergarten right through to the highschool girls. The Spence admissions team was so warm and welcoming right from the start through to enrollment in February. They are always smiling (which is hard all fall/winter!) and very communicative. We know how fortunate we are to join this special community and are so excited for our oldest daughter to start in September.
The administration is often biased towards students and doesn't adequately oversee issues. Many teachers also don't do as much as they can to help their students, and more resources would be helpful to dozens of students there.
