I'll give you a different perspective on this school than the other reviewers here; that is to say, I won't be complaining about the "toxic environment" that everyone here mentions already or "the academics are good". However, I would like to point out that the school isn't as good as it seems. Sure, it offers a slew of STEM classes, but the placement is absolutely terrible. There are kids who, dare I say, are geniuses that are being held back by the corrupt administration and teachers. For example, there are USAMO qualifiers in this school that are still taking calculus in 9th grade! I've had friends who have had the same problems in computer science and science as well. As for me, I took AP Calculus BC as an 8th grader and got a 5, yet I was given a nearly impossible placement test and was forced to repeat the class; I was lied to about the rigor of the class, and I virtually wasted the entire year. If you love learning or want to challenge yourself, Harker is not the place to go.
it is a school that is very good at marketing. Don’t think that all those who spend 60,000 a year to study here are rich. The school’s efforts are basically focused on STEM. The teaching method is People are divided into different levels since childhood. If you are not a double cross grader, in this environment, you basically give up the opportunity to go to top schools

You'll spend your high school years competing in brutal internal competition with your classmates. They never publish full list of college matri, if you saw it, you will be so disappointed, unless you are the top of the top.
Unfortunately, you have spent your youth in endless homework, you time, you money, and there may not be any results. That is the fact.

Sometimes there can be a lot of pressure starting at a middle school level. However, I think this is just pushing us to be better students, and it prepares us for college. Also, the administration does not follow the student handbook rules that well. There were several occasions where punishments could have been a lot more severe, so in that aspect Harker may not be a school where you want to send your kids if you want them to learn from there mistakes. On the other hand, Harker has exceptional academics and they are a well -rounded school as they are good in some specific sports like swimming, volleyball, track, ect.
