Parent: We are beginning our 10th year at ISI and plan to stay until both of our kids graduate! Our experience has been wonderful in all facets. However, we were a little nervous when our then 5th grader was to transfer to 6th grade (the dreaded middle school years) but have been pleasantly surprised. The transition was, to put it plainly, easy! To start, the school is just all around welcoming, but most of all the schools dedication to social and emotional well-being is, what I think, what made the transfer so easy for her. She hit the ground running and made so many achievements this year, we couldn't be more proud. With that being said and to be fair, I do need to comment on the IB Continuum where ISI offers the IB program to ALL students through the PYP (and MYP); The PYP has more than prepared my daughter for success, especially in middle school (also known as the MYP or Middle Years Program). Alum: Overall, Carmel High School provided me with a fantastic High School experience. The school is well known within the surrounding community for having great academics and sports, but most people are still unaware of the amazing amount of resources and experiences the school provides. I can absolutely say that I feel fully prepared for college, thanks in part to their comprehensive college and career readiness center, which offers programs that help counsel students on the college application process in various ways - particularly writing essays and completing the common app. I can also say that the counseling department is great at helping students choose the right courses and schedule as well as discussing any issues or questions pertaining to college applications. Another great part of Carmel High School is the widespread sense of community and engagement, as the sports events and clubs/activities offer an abundance of opportunities to get involved.... Alum: North Central while it had its flaws and trust me there were a few of them, it helped me feel more prepared for college because I was academically challenged and I was gifted study techniques that I still use in college. It also created a sense of family when it came to performing arts and I now have friendships that will last a lifetime. And no school is perfect and there are plenty of areas where North Central could improve particularly with the administration, but overall it is a really good place to be for high school and it shaped me into who I am and for that I am forever greatful.... Alum: My time being here was a roller coaster of emotions. With construction and Covid going around. Nevertheless staff and teacher were understanding and helped/guide us through the whole way. The worst part of the school was probably construction going around and it made it navigating through the school sometimes complicated. Although now for the most part construction has finish or soon to be finished. I loved the remodeling they did to the classrooms and hallway. As a previous performing arts student I loved the endless opportunities you had to go up and beyond your musical learning. One thing I loved is seeing how students and parents would come together to help one another. That being in upcoming concerts, rehearsal and more. Middle School Student: I love Fall Creek Valley Middle School becuase of the teachers and overall learning experience. I love how I get to work at my own pace in most of my classes and love meeting new friends. I am in the Immersion program and find that my Spanish teachers are very nice and are great at teaching us more of the Spanish culture and language. I love the athletic program and director we have.
