Rating 4.62 out of 5 123 reviews
I have had three children graduate from Rutgers Preparatory School, with my youngest just graduating this year. The school is exceptional! Each of my kids has different interests, and they were able to grow because Rutgers Prep supported them in their individual pursuits. The school nurtures each student individually, helping them reach their full potential and teaches them to become leaders.
I attended Rutgers Preparatory School since I was 3 years old (since preschool), and it proved to be a very enlightening & enjoyable experience. The community is brought together through various entertaining events like Family Day, Ethnic Pride, The Greek Festival (where we dress as Greek Gods & Goddesses), 'Prep' rallies, etc. The classes are typically small, allowing for the students to easily connect with their instructors. Additionally, the instructors provide excellent extra help sessions whenever you are in need of extra academic support. One of my favorite things about Rutgers Prep is the "Zen Den", a safe haven where high school students can destress from academic/social pressures (I used it quite a lot). Something I would like to see change, however, is the quality of the food. There have been occasions where I would find impurities on some of the vegetables. This is the only downside of the food, however, as there are plenty of good options for everyone's diet.
My two sons attended Rutgers Prep starting in high school. Both of them had come from other schools that, for different reasons, had a negative impact on them socially and academically. Rutgers Prep was the best decision we have ever made for our children. They made lifelong friends through sports and clubs and they thrived academically. The sports coaches were so committed to the kids and gave them an amazing sense of work ethic and teamwork.
My boys both have learning differences but were challenged without being overwhelmed. Other schools they had attended had learning centers but they would give them the answers or make the assignments so easy, it made them feel stupid (their words, not mine!). The DโAloia Center for Teaching and Learning Support really helped them learn that they can overcome challenges and taught them how to advocate for themselves.
The college prep experience was amazing. Both of my children are in the perfect college for them and are well prepared.
