Perspectives/IIT Math & Science Academy (MSA) prepares our students for success in college and in life by pairing strong social emotional learning with a rigorous college preparatory curriculum that emphasizes science, technology, math, engineering, and the arts. Located in Bronzeville, MSA serves approximately 500 students in grades 7-12.

MSA offers cutting edge technology that allow students to gain certifications and excel in web design, computer coding, Adobe Photoshop™, robotics, AP Physics and relevant STEM courses. High-achieving students can also opt in to an accelerated pathway to earn college credits through dual enrollment partnerships with the City Colleges of Chicago.

MSA partners with leading organizations, including Horizon Pharma and AAR, to give students opportunities to build relationships with mentors in STEM industries. Students begin college visits in middle school and all students receive targeted college counseling support.

The school is just too chaotic for me. The students there are too wild and they do what they want without respecting authority.

Review Perspectives/IIT Math & Science Academy

My experience at perspective msa was bitter sweet. In the fall of 2019 I entered perspective as a freshman. The students we eager to learn and teachers were amazing at teaching the subjects. I felt the msa was a home away from home with a secured safe environment, and respectful staff. In 2020 the pandemic occurred where many students like myself were forced to learn online. This was a very difficult task for most but the staff at msa adjusted and the students fell in line. Overall my 4 years at msa were great. The only thing I wished the school should have had was a gym class for all the students. As a recently graduated senior of msa we never had a dedicated physical education teacher in which I think we got cheated out of.

I have only been at Perspectives for a year but I am pretty much an expert on the community and culture in it. The best about perspectives is that there is a variety of different students ranging from origins to talents. The worst about perspectives is that many of the students lack motivation to come to school, perform well in school, and most times even do their schoolwork. All in all i rate my experience a 6/10.
