Overall, a decent education and experience. The administration is terrible, but there are some great teachers. STEM isn't the strongest and there is a huge push to not take more than 1 or 2 AP classes. That said, the arts are very strong. There is no celebration of academic excellence, but plenty of focus on DEI.
Archie Williams High School is a decent school academically. The social scene is pretty good, though everything became more complicated during and after the COVID pandemic. At this school, people are encouraged to be themselves. This is mostly a good thing, though sometimes students get away with too much. For example, I've been scratched by a Furry and the bathrooms get crazy sometimes. I've had a few very good teachers, many good teachers, and two bad teachers. I didn't like high school much during the first two years but now that I'm close to graduating my perspective has shifted and I know I will miss it. Major pros: Most people are nice and there's an open campus for lunch with easy access to decent food. Also, sports are good- especially water polo, football, and track. Major cons: Campus food is not great and some of the old buildings are creepy.
My experience with my school district has been positive. As a high school sophomore, I have been learning a lot about my school and the opportunities it provides. Counseling as been very helpful with choosing my classes, and making me better prepared for not only school, but my steps outside of it which has been very valuable.
