The Mounds View public school district is known for its good achedemics and it really furfilled that promise. I felt that the district was lacking in forming connections with other students because of the lack of fun group activities. The entire district is too strict with their rules and regulations and I believe thag they should be cut back. It made it tough to want to go to school when you had to use an online bathroom pass to leave class, which was limited by the total amount of students in the hallways so there was never a chance to go. It felt way too controlling for a high schooler not to be able to go to the bathroom as they need to. Thank you!
I have been in the Mounds View School district for eight years now. Prior to the transfer, I was attending a private Catholic school. Although private schools are known for their advanced academics, I felt that the Mounds View district challenged me and expanded my academic growth. They provided challenging courses and access to early college. Through the district, I was able to complete two years of college for free through PSEO.
Overall my years in high school have been so different. My freshman year was a covid year and I never experienced being a high school freshman. There was no homecoming, no one was able to go to football games, and everything was just as it had been for the last half of my eighth-grade year. As time progressed it did start to become "normal" high school. And even with all of that, there are things I enjoyed yet still things I did not personally like. The best thing my high school did for me was help me get into the pseo program. It has prepared me for both college and life. Although the cafeteria food was meh, and there are always the teachers you don't like, I am glad to be where I am now academically moving forward.
