My experience in Chesapeake Public Schools has been very challenging, as well as rewarding. It was difficult, in freshman year, when trying to readjust after online school. However, my teachers were very understanding and helpful. After, the only obstacles I faced in CPS were academic challenges. Although, sometimes safety would be a big concern due to fights. One change I would like in my school is an end to fighting.
The diversity is simply not there. They try, they really do, but it's nonexistent. There really ain't anything they can do, Virginia is a predominantly white state, but it still sucks, not seeing anyone my race.
I love my school. The administration and teachers are all amazing and we have great resources and a great learning environment. One thing I would change is that the schools should make opportunities more visible. There are many great opportunities that the schools provide but go unnoticed because they aren't displayed enough.
