I have been apart of Carmel Clay Schools for my whole educational career, since kindergarten. Overall, Carmel Clay Schools has provided me a safe and welcoming learning environment, always challenging my academic ability and pushing me to be a better student both inside, and outside of the classroom. The teachers have always been engaged with the improvement of students’ academics. However, as I have gotten older, teachers in the high school have less of a tendency to interact and make personal connections with the students, which can really help to build relationships and improve the classroom environment. Changing this would drastically help the connections between students and their teachers.
The school itself had a wide range of diverse courses ranging from astrology to zoology, as well as AP classes. There were also many courses involving dual-enrollment with colleges. In my own experience, I took a nursing assistant class, and with my license, I have an opportunity to get a job right after high school.
the best part about being a student at Carmel high school is also something that turns people away. I think that one of the best parts of Carmel high school is the size. there are over 5,000 student at the school every day. because of that the school building is large but I like how big it is. the size means that there are so always different people in each class. this can be a benefit if you like making new friends or if you don't like being with the same people all the time. due to the school having so many students we have to have lots of teachers and classes that us student can take. the size of the school can be the worst part. this can be when not knowing anyone and feeling alone and not important. the best and worst parts of a school depend on the outlook and personality of the student. one student's favorite part can be another student's worst fear.
