Catholic High School is the best choice we ever made after public school failed. The attention to detail when it came to our kids overall experiences is unmatched. Teachers challenge the kids to work at their full potential, while providing a strong network of support and resources to help reach their goals. My son has struggled socially and academically for years, but CHS has given him the tools and encouragement to believe in himself. I am so proud to say he is doing great, and I know his success will continue. The teachers are able to immerse students in a subject vs. teaching a state test curriculum. Our kids have experienced their education, while taking part in German culture, interactive History lessons and impressive Science labs. Homework is used to reinforce what they have learned, not time wasting busy work. Athletics and clubs are the icing on the cake. They say it takes a village to raise a well rounded teenager, and I can say, the CHS family is our village.
I was a student during the Pandemic, and compared to my friend's schools, Catholic High maintained structure and normalcy that really helped me stay grounded. It only took 2 days for us to go virtual. At times, the academics at Catholic High felt intense. However, when I went to university, I can say with confidence that I was way more prepared than my peers for the increased workload. It was so nice not having to worry about academics while I was adjusting to life away from home. The staff at Catholic was always so willing to help out and stay after school to answer any questions I had, and when I was going through a hard time in my life, they extended grace to me that I will never forget. As a female student I felt that the uniform was very comfortable- some people might complain about the uniform rules but in my opinion none of them are unfair. I loved the retreats and being a part of Campus Ministry leadership- I had never felt so strong in my faith before going to Catholic High.
I graduated from Catholic High School in 2000 and knew upon graduation that when I had children not only did I want them to attend Catholic school but specifically Catholic High. I now have a rising junior and rising freshman and we are thrilled with the school both academically and athletically. The teachers go out of their way to work with students that might need help after school or even during a study hall if their schedules align. Teachers and staff not only support students academically but also emotionally as well. I have seen countless times admin and faculty attend student performances and athletic events just to show support. My children face a rigorous academic schedule that also strengthens their faith in God. I appreciate the annual retreats and monthly inter-class community meetings that help foster friendships and mentorship across grade levels. There are multiple opportunities for scholarships and financial aid making it a very affordable option.
