From BASIS Independent Brooklyn

At BASIS Independent Brooklyn we believe in educating students to the highest international standards. We designed our Lower School at 405 Gold Street to support the needs of PreK-grade 2 students, and our Upper School in Red Hook caters to older students (Gr. 3-12).

We educate young students with expert instruction in the liberal arts and sciences, including: Mandarin, music, engineering, world history, math, and hands-on, project-based learning. Our passionate subject experts believe that with the right support and encouragement, any motivated child can achieve academic excellence. Our world-acclaimed program is inspired by best practices from around the world, and facilitates a joyful learning culture where hard work is celebrated and intellectual pursuits result in extraordinary opportunities.

Starting our 10th school year we are launching an innovative mentorship program, focused on evolving opportunities across industries given the advent of new technology, particularly AI.

Early Learning Program

academic spotlight

In PreK, we offer a thematic, hands-on, comprehensive, and content-rich curriculum that builds skills in an environment that fosters curiosity and mutual respect between teachers, students, and one another. Kindergarten is focused on more formal, foundational learning, with the curriculum facilitating opportunities for children to interact with academic, physical, and social concepts.
