University of South Florida Reviews
Rating 3.82 out of 5 7,589 reviews
As a freshman at the University of South Florida, I've had an incredible experience so far. I love the vibrant campus life, the warm weather, and the supportive community of students and faculty. The diverse range of clubs and activities has made it easy to find my niche and make new friends. However, I'd like to see more emphasis on mental health resources and support services for students, as the transition to college can be overwhelming at times. Overall, I'm excited about the journey ahead and proud to be a Bull!
The advisors in the biology department can be a hit or miss, some will degrade you for mistakes that can only happen on their end like degreeworks not categorizing your credits properly. They also never helped me with anything graduate school related after I have been mentioned pursuing it since my first year here as a sophomore. It's impossible to get into the career center via appointment and the biology department has an issue with retaining botany professors. They also have classes that are required but will only have one class available fall and spring with less than 30 seats and if your not on the first day of the rolling admission you are out of luck, this has happened to to me every year with vertebrate biology and I have to graduate a semester late. The advisors also fail to anticipate a lack of seats when helping you plan a schedule and because of this my graduation has been pushed back 3 times. Positives: Diverse school and lots of fun events, lots of places to study!
Though my experience at the University of South Florida has been limited so far, given that I am a freshman and have not officially started school yet, I can confidently say that this University is one of the absolute best universities in any and all aspects.
My experience at freshman orientation was difficult for me at first, given that I am a very shy kid when exposed to new situations and environments. However, USF was well prepared with the most friendly university student-leaders who were so incredibly welcoming and reassuring. Along with this, USF provides so many student resources in all aspects of life, not just academics. From mental wellness, to physical health, to reproductive responsibility, to academic success, USF provides so many unique resources to its students.
For the sake of the review, I was trying to think of at least one thing that I would like to see change at the University of South Florida, but I honestly cannot think of a single thing. Such an amazing school
