What are cosmetology majors?

Cosmetology programs generally prepare you to perform a wide range of cosmetic services. Coursework typically includes instruction in hair cutting and styling, manicuring, pedicuring, facial treatments, shampooing, chemical applications, esthetics, shop management, sanitation and safety, customer service and applicable professional and labor laws and regulations. As a cosmetology student, you’ll prepare for practice as a licensed cosmetologist in specialized or full-service salons.
