Being in the music industry is tough. It is not a stable job, and the need for it is not as high as a doctor's, but if singing is your passion, do it. I was always told growing up that 'singing is nice, but it won't pay the bills' and a part of that statement is true. I had closed my mind to that area because of money, and while people need money, people also need passion and interest to have fun. I wasn't originally going to major in voice, but I have always loved to sing, and when I told my college choir director about my thoughts he told me, "If you want to major in singing, what do you see yourself doing in the future with singing? Once you figure that out we will help you to that goal, but just know that this path is not straight. It is curvy and long." He also said, "Also know that you will get a lot of no's before I get a yes, but if I have the fire and courage to push through the no's and keep believing, I can and will make it." If you love to sing with all your heart, do it.
