How popular is teaching English as a second language as a major?

Each year, around 390 students obtain a bachelor’s degree and around 10 students obtain an associate degree in teaching English as a second language. In 2021, 401 students received a bachelor's degree and 6 students received an associate degree. This is 4% more teaching English as a second language majors than there were in 2020. Teaching English as a second language is a relatively uncommon major within education.
