Quality control technician


What is a quality control technician major?

This curriculum trains students to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills in support of engineers and other professionals engaged in maintaining consistent manufacturing and construction standards. Program topics include quality control systems management principles, technical standards applicable to specific engineering and manufacturing projects, testing procedures, inspection procedures, related instrumentation and equipment operation and maintenance, and report preparation.

How popular is quality control technician as a major?

Each year, around 35 students obtain a bachelor’s degree and around 110 students obtain an associate degree in quality control technician. In 2021, fewer than 5 students received a bachelor's degree and 106 students received an associate degree. This is 15% more quality control technician majors than there were in 2020. Quality control technician is a relatively uncommon major within trades and personal services.
