Don't fall behind on work. It's easy to procrastinate, but if you're not one that is able to handle stress from completing an assignment an hour or so before it's due, then you should manage your time well. Try to also really understand the subject because it's truly interesting and educational.
My advice to both the the prospects and initiates of any Natural Science program are to stay in touch with why "this" is your major. Make sure to appreciate the the privilege of being able to make work outside in nature. Take your studies as the time to really integrate all your learnings from being a curious kid outside and bring that with you to the lecture hall so that you can refine the process and be proud of the mature questions you raise and the scientific methods you use to track and document based off of it.
Like any science majors, it is a lot of work and can be difficult at times. Even if it may seem impossible to do so much at once, it is possible. I had a full mental breakdown because I felt so overwhelmed about starting an anatomy class, but now I am learning so much and doing really well in the class. I am dedicating a lot of time to my studies and am excelling. Anything is possible even if you don’t believe it is.
