Advice from library science majors
Share your experienceI have secured 2 part-time positions in this field, and find that is very helpful in the learning portion of my Master's degree.
I would talk to some employees at a library you'd like to potentially work at after graduation to see how they view the MLIS and if it would help you in your career.
Only do this major if you truly love library science, but also understand that there are so many useful things you can do with your degree other than librarianship. Many places require you to get any master's for higher pay and positions, so this is a very simple one that you can pretty much craft your own path with but what I've seen is that people generally fall in love with a type of librarianship and stick to it! And work in a library!!
