Computer game programming is a program that prepares individuals to apply the knowledge and skills of design and computer programming to the development of computer games. It includes training in character and story development, computer programming, computer graphics, game design, game physics, human-computer interaction, human-centered design, and usability.

How popular is computer game programming as a major?

Each year, around 130 students obtain a bachelor’s degree and around 25 students obtain an associate degree in computer game programming. In 2021, 133 students received a bachelor's degree and 24 students received an associate degree. This is relatively the same number of computer game programming majors as there were in 2020. Computer game programming is a relatively uncommon major within computer science.
