The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art Reviews
– It is not academically rigorous at all. Most student's don't put in a lot of effort, don't attend class, and it's kinda encouraged by the structure of the program.
– Job prospects are somewhere between real bad and nonexistent (it's better in Architecture and Engineering programs). A professor once said that if they've done their job well, you'll be unemployable.
– Dorms are only for freshman and housing in New York is extremely difficult—either very expensive or far from the school and still pretty expensive.
It's alright in certain cases, pretty good for getting into the gallery business, but you'd better have a lot of internal motivation, internal direction, and grit. If you don't you'll probably be wasting your time.
