Junior: Brigham Young University is an exceptional school! I am currently studying wildlife and wildland conservation, and I have had more opportunities to immerse myself in my studies than I expected. The teachers I have had for both general and major classes are extremely passionate in what they teach, making it more encouraging to learn. Within my major, teachers have provided opportunities to go on field trips related to what we're studying as well as kept us updated on research and job opportunities related to wildlife and wildland conservation that are available. Sophomore: My overall experience at Liberty University is incredible! The community at Liberty is what I love the most. What I love about Liberty's community is that I am surrounded by thousands of believers in Christ! Being able to surround myself with people who have the same beliefs as me feels so welcoming and accepting. In addition to sharing the same beliefs, everyone is incredibly kind and friendly! Sophomore: To be honest, BYUI was THE LAST school I ever wanted to attend — not that I wanted to attend Provo either, that social scene is just too toxic. I cried when I realized it was the only education I could afford. However, the first day I got to Rexburg, my mind completely changed. Now, having been a student for about 3 years, I am SO grateful for my decision to come here. I love the teachers, they genuinely DO care about you and your individual success. You have every opportunity to learn about becoming a discipleship leader in life, and you can basically find every kind of social community here (even if you feel like you don’t fit into the “BYUI Standard”, I promise there are people here for you). Despite everyone joking about it being all-white, I’ve been surprised at the MASSIVE group of international students, specifically from Latin America and Africa, but also a large group from Asia. Sophomore: I loved every minute of my freshman year! I have known GCC alum over the years, so I was pretty sure it would be the type of place where I would flourish, and I entered my first year with lots of ideas of clubs to join, magazines to write for, musical ensembles to join, events to attend, etc. etc. But Grove has challenged me in ways I wasn't expecting - I've made such a diverse group of friends (both culturally, religiously, socio-economically, etc.), and they have all encouraged, motivated, and inspired me in ways I never would have expected! I have sung at live music events with friends who study mechanical engineering and political science, road-tripped with a good friend to attend her Colombian aunt's wedding across the country, gone to a Christmas party in the home of the college president, and become editor of a magazine that allows me to work with faculty and upperclassmen who I deeply admire. Sophomore: Colorado Christian University is a fantastic university! To start, the community at CCU is unmatched anywhere else. Students are welcomed and easily introduced to college life through CCU's programs. These programs include first-year students and new student classes, discipleship groups, various clubs and extracurriculars, and the environment in general. For example, the campus is always busy with students involved in activities or just hanging out with friends playing spike ball or other fun games. Secondly, CCU's academics are amazing. Sophomore: Utah State has been a great experience. The atmosphere of campus is unbeatable! The campus is settled at the bottom of beautiful mountains. Which means there is endless outdoor activities that you can do when you’re not in class or studying. There’s plenty of outdoor space around campus to enjoy between classes or to hang out on the weekends. The professors care about their students and seeing them succeed. I’ve not had an issue with reaching out to one with questions/concerns. On campus housing offers a variety of options. All are close to campus and have a shuttle bus accessible to take you pretty much anywhere around campus. There could be a few more options for food but what we have is pretty good. The best Aggie experience is our athletics. I have loved going to the football, basketball, and other sports that Utah State offers. Freshman: I am absolutely in love with Dallas Baptist University. It is a Christ centered education and unashamed of it. Every class opens and closes in prayer. Senior: I have loved my time at Harding! As an administration, the school can become frustrating when their hands seem tied about certain stances (women in the church, gay rights, pro-choice/pro-life, diversity, etc.), but that is not to say the entire campus feels or acts the same way. Junior: Being a student at Samford University has been a life changing experience for me so far. Since my first week on campus, I have felt welcomed and included within the community. The upper classmen are very kind and want to help get new students plugged into the campus. It is easy to become involved at Samford between the clubs, sororities/fraternities, small groups, etc. you will quickly meet people that will become your closest friends. They became my family and friends for all four years and now for my two years as a graduate student. The staff also supported me during COVID-19. Sophomore: Overall, I love Auburn. The campus community is very welcoming and friendly, and the campus itself is gorgeous! There are tons of great spots to study, both indoors and out. The area nearby is also very nice, with a lot of cute local coffee shops and restaurants. I've had really good experiences with most of my professors at Auburn, although I have had a few that weren't great. Some have kind of weird grading systems, and it's hard to monitor your own grades through Canvas sometimes because of that. I enjoy most of my classes, and if you're in liberal arts it's really easy to add a minor (or two), so you can explore different academic interests. I lived in the Village my first year, which is super convenient. It's by one of the dining halls and about a five minute walk from the main campus and from the Reacreation and Wellness Center, which made it easy for me to workout before classes. Alum: I really enjoyed my time here. I worked as an RA during my last two years of education for my B.S. in Chemistry. I love how accessible the campus is in terms of transit. You can take the bus all over campus and don't have to wait long at all. I also rode my bike everywhere. The summers are great here as well! I remember finding a wonderful study spot near the Benjamin Franklin statue. I wish I was of drinking age when I attended here so I could enjoy a brew at the bar on campus. I didn't party much at all or join any fraternity, but the student life is amazing, and I was able to make a lot of friends. Sophomore: Professors are wonderful. They care about students individually, outside and inside the classroom. Coursework is challenging and full of learning. Knowledge gained is applicable across many areas of life. The cafeteria has a wide variety of food. Students have access to many study areas. The town nearby isn’t great, but Hot Springs is close. There are many outdoor recreation activities. My only complaint is the housing. Students receive housing based on seniority, but many of the dorms and apartments are old and outdated.... Sophomore: Wayne State College is amazing. It a beautiful small campus with clubs and opportunities for everyone. It is a pretty cheep cost as well but worth it. They offer a wide variety of majors which I have been especially grateful for. I am majoring in FCS with an focus on fashion merchandising.
