Junior: The University of Florida is a great school for online students. I am a student in the Fire and Emergency services program and have enjoyed my time here. Although I am an out of state student, the tuition rates for this school are more affordable than an in-state institution where I live in Tennessee. Also, the academics are sufficiently challenging. The professors that I've had have all been very helpful, welcoming calls or emails. There are a few programs noted for their fire science across the nation, such as Oklahoma State University but they are so much more costly. Another great aspect of being an online student at University of Florida is being treated like an on-campus student. You have access to all campus facilities, can purchase Florida Gators football student season tickets, etc. While many "colleges" that cater to fire and emergency services are basically degree mills and lack the reputation that the University of Florida offers. Senior: I have had an excellent experience at the University of Miami. I started at the school during the Spring semester of my Freshamn year which made it a bit hard to meet people initially, but I found my people after only a few shorts weeks. I played club field hockey and joined a sorority, which made the adjustment easy. Academically, I find the school very challenging, but I believe I'm receiving an excellent education. I'm majoring in Health Sciences and this summer I'm working at a hospital as a nursing assistant. I feel well prepared thanks to some of the courses I've taken at school. The one drawback for me was I only had the opportunity to live on campus for one semester. Housing is hard to secure, so I've had to live off campus which I would have ideally delayed until my junior or senior year. The campus is beautiful and I'm very happy. Junior: While I love attending New College, the new administrators do not care much for the opinions and desires of students. My first year was a fantastic time, where students all used to hang out and connect through events that would encourage socialization. There's a ton of resources to help maintain the health, wellness, and financial stability of students. Currently, I cannot speak on the state of the food offered since we just signed on with a new cafeteria company. However, in the past, the food was adequate and offered a diverse range of options. The athletics program isn't great since it has only recently been established and doesn't have a strong foundation, so if you're looking to come to New College to play sports, it probably isn't worth it. The college has also recently cut down on the wide range of housing options, leaving some students in hotels or cramped dorms or the USF campus, if not off campus entirely. Alum: Florida Atlantic University immerses students into a diverse learning environment with endless opportunities. The staff at FAU is top tier due to their willingness to help and want for you to succeed. As a year-round division I student-athlete, I am so grateful that I had such accommodating professors. The location of the campus is another pro. FAU is positioned about 3 miles away from the beach. The beach is a cost-free activity that my friends and I took advantage of on a weekly basis. That leads me into a con about FAU. FAU does not have the liveliest campus. There are not tons of activities and on the weekends the campus is desolate. Junior: Rollins College has a great community feel! Because the campus is relatively small, you see your friends and professors when you walk around campus. The food is great- students of all years eat most meals at the dining hall and the staff and faulty also often eat at the dining hall. Bagels, etc. The campus is medium sized, so you will quickly find you way around for your classes without too much worry for getting lost, furthermore, the professors are more able to care for each individual student in their classes to help them to succeed academically. This goes for the amount of students as well, as there is enough to where you may see similar people throughout a semester, but never be able to know everybody around you which gives a certain amount of freedom small schools are not able to offer. My favorite part about this campus though, despite the delicious food and (most of the time) caring professors, is how gorgeous this whole campus is. Senior: I really enjoyed my time at Jacksonville University and with one year left to go I feel a bit sad to leave. However I am excited to see where my next steps will take me. I met many good friends who helped me with classes, studying, and navigating university life here. I loved learning from the professors who helped me solidify my future goals of pursing a career in veterinarian medicine. Even so, the only thing I would love to change would be the lack of unique science lectures. Unfortunately every semester there aren’t many biology lectures to choose from and this becomes a problem in the later years once I have taken nearly every class that is offered for the semester. Hopefully there will be more to choose from in the future. Even if this is my only gripe I still loved my time here and I will continue working hard until I graduate.... Read 832 reviews

Alum: I recently graduated from UT and can firmly say that "it is what you make of it!" I often see that UT isn't a good school if you aren't into partying, etc. I went out/went to parties >10x and still had a good experience. There is very little school spirit and much of the "college experience" happens off campus. I lived off campus for 3.5 years and for me UT does require a level of independence that some schools might not because most students do live off campus and commute, at least after Freshman or Sophomore year. However, it was the perfect school for me because I desired this type of independence. Professors are very friendly and academics are top tier, however there are not as interesting of class offerings as other private institutions. Honors program is good if you want rigor and research. It can be hard to find a group of friends if you don't subscribe to the partying or sorority lifestyle, but not impossible. UT isn't for you if you want a stereotypical college experience....
