Alum: I had a wonderful experience at Montclair State. I learned a lot from The Feliciano School of Business professors that really helped me get to where I am at in my career in the corporate world. My bestest of friends that I have now we all met at Montclair and I couldn’t trade my school experience for anything else. I will always be extremely grateful to have experienced that. I loved living on campus in the village apartments, I loved how diverse the school really was by including international students. I loved the cafeteria food! - I loved the school store which had everything you needed. I also loved how they offered so many amazing extra curricular activities and clubs. I do wish I joined more clubs but because I missed out on some in college I have stepped out of my comfort zone I have joined the soccer league through my job, participated in volunteer days and other charity events and have become more independent doing activities on my own meeting new people and networking.... Junior: So far, my experience at William Paterson has treated me greatly. I have made many great friends along the way, some of which I consider my family away from home. I like how small the campus and it feels like a small community that allows you to get a taste of adulthood. Everyone knows everyone on campus. However, with all its highs, William Paterson has its lows. For starters, there are a lot of people on campus who can be loud and obnoxious at times. I tend to just tone them out. I've heard about a couple minor altercations on campus but I haven't been involved in any of them. I tend to stick to myself and my group. In addition, the food can be very mediocre or it can be very good. There's no consistency to the food on campus. The education is amazing, I enjoy learning more about coding and computer hardware because I can apply it to my everyday computer issues. Sophomore: Ramapo College of New Jersey is smaller than your typical college campus. There are usually no big parties and student life is pretty quiet unless you are involved in the various clubs that are hosted here. Parking also gets packed in the commuter lots, however the farthest parking lot to the main building is only a 10 minute walk. Something to add here that I tell a lot of new students is that public safety tends to be strict with their parking permits and policies, so make sure you have a guest pass or a permit! Although it is a small campus, you are provided with beautiful scenery and incredibly convenient placement. If you take a 7 minute drive down the highway, there are supermarkets, restaurants, and clothing stores for your college needs. Senior: Adelphi University is located in one of the nicest neighborhoods on Long Island, so although campus security isn't the best, there is no question that Adelphi is one of the safest schools to attend. The campus is an arboretum, making it very beautiful; during the spring semester, there's always people hanging out and playing sports on the lawns. Because its a commuter school, it can sometimes be difficult to make long-term friendships, however, getting involved in clubs (especially Greek Life) can help resolve this. Regardless, the school is socially dead on the weekends. The food is not bad whatsoever, its just that there are minimal options, so one can easily get sick of it quickly; I know a lot of people who bring food from home instead. Lastly, I've had positive experiences with the majority of the professors here- class sizes are small so its easy to get personalized academics & support. Graduate Student: My experience here at Boricua college has had its ups and downs, as I noticed they could be cheap whenever they feel like it. I had one professor for three semesters straight because the college didn’t want to find someone else. This professor was very rude putting down others each time they had the opportunity to, as well as showed favoritism but continued to give work when I already completed what needed to be done, causing me to burnout, and putting me down when threatening me I won’t be able to graduate if I fail to cooperate with them. Long story short, this professor did not stay. I’m glad. I had met nicer, understanding professors before and after this one in particular. Junior: I think Wagner has the potential to be a great college experience. However, I haven't had that yet. All I want is to feel like I love the school and I love the people, and don't get me wrong there are a few people at the school I would die for. Sophomore: St. johns is a amazing school, I've met many friends, and even family that I didn't know was my family here. I always reminisce on how blessed I am, that I'm able to attend such a high up, and popular school like St. Johns. I love the diversity at this school, as I see a mix of races, sexualities and genders. It's always so welcoming and wholesome when it comes to going to on campus events and even parties that happen almost every other week. I would love to see more diverse programs to happen around campus, and more ways to help students thrive and become their better self's. Sarah Lawrence College allows you the freedom to explore what interests you. The academics are strong, with classes ranging from their famous creative writing courses to foreign languages to even sciences. The professors are wonderful; in fact, most students will probably attest that their professors were the best part of SLC. The professors treat you with kindness and respect-almost like a fellow colleague-and want the best for your success. They work with you, guide you through conference projects, and push you beyond what you think you are capable of. As amazing as the academics are, there are some issues with administration, specifically communication and collaboration between the higher administrative team with the students and professors. Freshman: St. Francis is a very diverse school that is very inclusive to everyone no matter the background. The campus is very beautiful and the advisement is very helpful for students. It is in downtown Brooklyn which has so much diversity and things to do and eat. I feel very safe on that campus and they also offer student parking with a discounted price which is excellent for students who drive. It is a very accessible commute through the MTA as well....
