Senior: My experience so far at Rutgers has been pretty good overall, but I have experienced a few bumps. I love the wide range of academic courses and the many research opportunities that allowed me to pursue my passions. Socializing was made easy by the welcoming community and active campus life. However, managing administrative tasks can be time-consuming and a big class can sometimes feel cold. Parking is a pain! Rutgers's bus system is sometimes a hassle. On-campus housing quality is unpredictable. Despite these challenges, I've had a useful and enjoyable time at the university thanks to its modern facilities, convenient location, and sometimes useful transportation system. Alum: I graduated from Fairfield University this past May, 2024. I graduated with a degree in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience and a minor in Special Education. I had a great time at Fairfield and made so many memories and friends that are going to last a lifetime. Since Fairfield is a small school I was in small classes where the teachers knew all of our names and really cared about how we did in our classes and post grad. Even though I had a great experience there are things that I would like to change. The school does not listen to the students opinions and needs. There have been times when friends of mine have reached out to the school with their opinions on how to better certain aspects of the school and they did not hear back.The school is inclusive, but lacks diversity. There are multiple advisors in every department who give amazing and free academic advice and life advice (always a good add on). The students are sweet and helpful, but there is no party scene as alot of the students are commuters. I met my best friend at this college! I was a psychology student who minored in chemistry- I have to say that the psychology department and the childhood education department were the best 2 departments in the whole school (and of course the women's volleyball team). There are some amazing and well rounded professors who teach here! I enjoyed my time and would recommend it to all people wanting to come to CUNY. The financial office is surprisingly not that bad- they get back to you in a timely manner and if someone qualifies- they offer a good amount of financial aid. Sophomore: Fordham University at the Lincoln Center is an excellent campus to choose especially when you are invested in the arts. There are always nearby events and so many connections you can make. However, it can be mentally tough to leave the Manhattan campus because of the "tunnel system" (hallways that connect the dorms to the classrooms) so make sure to utilize NYC as much as you can. The food was also better than expected. With all the bad reviews on the food all over the internet (I know you saw them), Fordham really took it upon themselves to improve the quality of their dishes as I never get bored of the food. So, if something bothers you on campus, speak up so Fordham can improve it! Also, the people at Fordham are very welcoming. As it is a small school, Fordham hosts so many social events, that it makes it really simple for anyone to be involved and to socialize in some aspect. Fordham is really how you make of it....
