Sophomore: Rice University is a great school for all-rounders—people who have more than one passion in life and want to explore all these passions together. They emphasize this even in the more intensive majors. They also focus on creating a socially healthy atmosphere for students by allowing student leaders to have a say in campus policies, as well as providing, funding, and promoting social events on campus. They truly cultivate a close-knit community from the start with orientation week and your "o-week" family, whom you will meet with weekly during your first year. There are a lot of peer-led activities and peer leadership opportunities so students can receive help and perspectives from their peers on matters that affect them. Overall all I can say is that if you want a school that challenges you in all facets of your life while also looking after and prioritizing your mental, social, and physical well being that Rice is the best university to meet all those needs.... Junior: UHCL (University of Houston-Clear Lake) is an amazing and beautiful campus. I am in my second semester here, and I do not regret coming to this campus. The professors are so nice and understanding. I am in an education major, and I am so glad to have the support I need from my professor and advisor. I have joined a few different organizations, which has helped me grow as a person and helped me come out of my shell. I am an Orientation leader, secretary of TSTA (Texas State Teachers Association), and HLI (Hawk Leadership Institute). The environment here is an added bonus to my education. There are so many different beautiful animals that live around the campus. I love going on walks on the trails and relaxing after a long day of classes. The one thing I would like to see more on campus is more events and organizations for education majors. We only have one Teacher organization, TSTA, but a lot of students on campus have no idea it exists. I recommend UHCL to everyone!... Read 766 reviews

Freshman: Downtown has been great so far, it has a very good school, life balance. The lecturers are great. But every semester I would have problems with the registrar or financial offices getting things mixed up. So the faculty were great, but the back-end staff could be a struggle sometimes.
