Junior: When I first decided to transfer to WCU, I was so nervous. It was going to be a brand new environment for me. After talking with admissions, they made me feel so seen and heard. I had never had teachers and staff pay such close attention to who I am, and what I'm trying to achieve. I've had long rocky road with school, from not passing classes to taking out loans because of losing my scholarship. However, my teachers have cheered me on, given me extra resources to succeed and have mentored me to become a better person. Junior: I adore everything about Ohio University! I was so excited to get to Athens my freshman year. I immediately fell in love with the campus and felt right at home there. From the very first day, the professors acknowledge that as new students, college will be demanding, but it is not impossible and is worth it. The professors truly care about their students and want to see them succeed, and they will do whatever they can to help. The student body is truly what makes OU so special. Every single individual is kind and will go out of their way to help someone. I have found the greatest group of friends whom I love dearly and will forever be grateful for. At the dining halls, food is poured out of plastic bags and served to us, and the campus markets are lined with candy and sodas. Senior: I have had an excellent experience at the University of Miami. I started at the school during the Spring semester of my Freshamn year which made it a bit hard to meet people initially, but I found my people after only a few shorts weeks. I played club field hockey and joined a sorority, which made the adjustment easy. Academically, I find the school very challenging, but I believe I'm receiving an excellent education. I'm majoring in Health Sciences and this summer I'm working at a hospital as a nursing assistant. I feel well prepared thanks to some of the courses I've taken at school. The one drawback for me was I only had the opportunity to live on campus for one semester.
