That said, Harvard wasn't without its challenges. The workload was intense, and I sometimes struggled to maintain a healthy work-life balance. The university could do more to support student mental health and wellbeing, like better access to counseling services, more wellness programming, etc. But overall, my experience at Harvard was truly transformative. Other: My experience has greatly exceeded my already-high expectations. My professors have always been available and the opportunity to apply my studies and skills to research projects was great. My fellow student are good people and everyone in have met has some kind of truly unique capability. I have learned that being in the top 99% of GPA and test scores is great, but I routinely meet people in the top 99.5% and they seem many times smarter than me. Being around people like this keep me humble and motived. I like party scene, as I can alway find something fun to do whenever time allows. I also like that most of my colleagues are not trying to 'look' smart...and anyone who would try this would soon find that someone right next to them is many time more capable. Sophomore: Princeton University is certainly an academically rigorous college. It attracts students who hold themselves to high standards which, due to grade deflation, adds to the stress of most students. The campus is beautiful in the more historic part of campus. The newer buildings are very clean and there are several food options. I don’t ever feel the need to snack with the amount of options I have in the undergraduate meal plan. Many of the student organizations are wonderful and everyone is very passionate about their field. It is certainly not an athletic school but alumni are extremely passionate about Princeton pride.... Other: Yale University is an amazing experience for those who want an Ivy league education with a matching student life. The diversity provides a campus full of different backgrounds, races, and identities as a whole. Beyond that, Yale gives New Haven a prominent and proud name. Alum: I enjoyed my time at Hyde Park! I thought that the school challenged me strongly and prepared me well for post-college life. The professors and department workers were accessible and easy to get along with. They were knowledgeable, caring and helpful. If I had to go back and choose again, I would definitely choose this same school. Sophomore: Pomona is the best place if you're into a small college environment, down-to-earth really intellectual people, and are open to learn new subjects! The college has free food and events everywhere, and there's always something to do alongside your classes (and, if not, you can always lay out in the beautiful sun). Would highly recommend going on On-The-Loose trips, where you can go on backpacking trips, overnight beach trips, etc. Pomona has been the perfect fit, and I couldn't ask for a better college experience. Sophomore: UC Berkeley is a prestigious institution that has a lot to offer in academics and extracurriculars. To me, the people are what make the experience so great, and fortunately, with such a large class, there is a myriad of people and groups to be affiliated with which illustrates the diversity at Berkeley. Some things can be frustrating sometimes such as applying for classes, finding resources, and having intrapersonal interactions with professors and classmates due to Berkeley being such a large institution. Additionally, there are other inconveniences such as the lack of housing for students which in my opinion, needs to start being a priority for the administration. Overall, UC Berkeley has a lot to offer and it is truly what you make of it. Sophomore: Academically, this school's courses are satisfying and challenging. The professors are knowledgeable in their expertise and you can tell how passionate they are about their content. The food options are good, though I will say I wish we were given more Triton Cash. In terms of housing, it is frustrating that some first-year dorms are naturally better/modern, due to the year that they were built (like Muir), so I'm hoping to see future improvements in those dorms. Additionally, the party scene of this school is not the best, especially compared to its neighboring schools. Considering the school canceled Sun God this year, I can't say it was the best. Regardless, I would say I enjoyed this year, as the location and free public transport allows students to explore San Diego and take advantage of what it has to offer. Junior: The University of Florida is a great school for online students. I am a student in the Fire and Emergency services program and have enjoyed my time here. Although I am an out of state student, the tuition rates for this school are more affordable than an in-state institution where I live in Tennessee. Also, the academics are sufficiently challenging. The professors that I've had have all been very helpful, welcoming calls or emails. There are a few programs noted for their fire science across the nation, such as Oklahoma State University but they are so much more costly. Another great aspect of being an online student at University of Florida is being treated like an on-campus student. You have access to all campus facilities, can purchase Florida Gators football student season tickets, etc. While many "colleges" that cater to fire and emergency services are basically degree mills and lack the reputation that the University of Florida offers. Sophomore: I have absolutely loved my time at William and Mary. The student body is am amazing group of people, and I have learned so much from my peers. Additionally, many of the professors are very passionate about teaching and their field of study. The classes push students to work hard and engage with their lectures. Although the classes are difficult, I have found that the professors and other resources are a great help, and most professors will work with students in order for them to succeed.
