Freshman: Athens, Georgia, the home of the University of Georgia, remains a fond memory in my heart. Athens is not too big of a city to get lost in, but not so small that it gets boring. There's always events taking place on campus, and Saturdays in Athens are some nobody should ever miss! The students here are willing to talk to you, and the campus makes it easy to bump into each other often. Amidst all these wonderful attributes that makes UGA so special--not to mention the great weather--I believe the housing situation needs to be updated. They are working on renovating certain dorms over the summer, so perhaps the housing situation may be better for the incoming class of 2024. The university also needs to address the parking situation because thousands of students are without a parking permit on the campus and have to park illegally due to lack of parking spaces. Sophomore: I really love the city of Austin! The "weirdness" of Austin jumps out at you in the best way. The countless times I've gone to the groovy thrift stores or south Congress Ave with friends have been some of the best moments of my young life. The culture at UT is one of a kind as well. I feel that every person attending college feels a certain amount of pride in their school, like its a part of their identity almost. With UT its that and then some. Being from Maryland, experiencing the lone star state has been otherworldly. The pride in Texans and in the school is like no other, and it has certainly rubbed of on me. Sophomore: Upon arrival to UIUC, I immediately felt the sense that I was welcomed and appreciated for being there. The professors are spectacular! My organic chemistry professor contributed to the COVID test, which I thought was remarkable that he contributed to such a significant thing, yet, he was teaching ME! This, nonetheless, is not a unique experience as most of the professors at UIUC have done something remarkable, too. The student life at UIUC is unlike one I have ever imagined. The connections between people of various backgrounds, beliefs, etc are astounding. One thing I think I wish would change is the dorm housing. UIUC has one of the worst freshman dorm housing. For instance, I stayed in Snyder Hall in South Ikenberry Commons, and while it was nice, it was definitely not worth $13,000 (a year) for staying in a shoe box that would sometimes have cockroaches in the bathroom. Freshman: I just finished my first year at Bentley and I had a great experience! They prepare you for the future and that makes me feel good knowing I'll probably have a job right out of college so you get your money's worth. It is a much bigger party school than I expected, with the frat parties. Even though Greek Life is only about 20% it's very prominent on campus and those who are involved in it are very involved. But of course not everyone goes out and there's other things to do if you're not into that. In regards to the food, it was a lot better than people on here make it out to be. I think they improved that last year in particular because of the complaints. There are lots of options in the dining hall, and if worst comes to worst you don't like anything, the other food spots on campus are really good (La Cava, Einsteins, Currito). Senior: I have had an excellent experience at the University of Miami. I started at the school during the Spring semester of my Freshamn year which made it a bit hard to meet people initially, but I found my people after only a few shorts weeks. I played club field hockey and joined a sorority, which made the adjustment easy. Academically, I find the school very challenging, but I believe I'm receiving an excellent education. I'm majoring in Health Sciences and this summer I'm working at a hospital as a nursing assistant. I feel well prepared thanks to some of the courses I've taken at school. The one drawback for me was I only had the opportunity to live on campus for one semester. Housing is hard to secure, so I've had to live off campus which I would have ideally delayed until my junior or senior year. The campus is beautiful and I'm very happy. Junior: The University of Florida is a great school for online students. I am a student in the Fire and Emergency services program and have enjoyed my time here. Although I am an out of state student, the tuition rates for this school are more affordable than an in-state institution where I live in Tennessee. Also, the academics are sufficiently challenging. The professors that I've had have all been very helpful, welcoming calls or emails. There are a few programs noted for their fire science across the nation, such as Oklahoma State University but they are so much more costly. Another great aspect of being an online student at University of Florida is being treated like an on-campus student. You have access to all campus facilities, can purchase Florida Gators football student season tickets, etc. While many "colleges" that cater to fire and emergency services are basically degree mills and lack the reputation that the University of Florida offers. Sophomore: This university is perfect for students who want to be close to major cities but not directly inside them. The people are all nice and willing to help, staff and faculty included. There are a lot of opportunities for undergrads that I haven't seen in many other colleges, especially regarding research. And it is also a great place for international students, as there is a great network of support. The food is generally not bad at all, and there are many options throughout campus. Junior: Tulane University is such an incredible place for so many reasons. Because it is not said enough, the quality of professors here is absolutely unbelievable. The campus is beautiful, the students are happy, and the weather is perfect, minus the rain. The academics are rigorous but manageable, leaving time to get involved in extracurriculars, explore New Orleans, or anything else you want to do. New Orleans is an amazing and fun city with so much to see! The class sizes, at least for me personally, have been so small, and the relationships I have built with my professors are so special. The social climate can be a bit tough to manage for introverts or for those who do not enjoy going out often, but once you find your niche it is a non-issue. The academics are super flexible, and I'm able to graduate early despite choosing to study abroad!
