Alum: I'm glad I went to WashU for my undergraduate education. Academically, it was tough, particularly for STEM majors. Many of the intro science courses were difficult and needed to be graded on a curve (we called them "weed-out" classes because they weeded out pre-med students who weren't serious about their grades). However, student life was wonderful and there were so many activities, opportunities, and resources on campus. The student housing and food options were all fantastic. Freshman: Although I had a rocky start with housing and the Honors program I quickly learned that Saginaw Valley State University was full of kind students and amazing professors. The math department is rocky but those that work in the tutoring center really make up for it! Housing can be complicated and frustrating but the state of the dorms are totally worth it! Alum: As a Music student I loved the music program. I have close friends that will last a lifetime and found my partner who is now my fiance. My best friends are those I met going here. The music professors are amazing and the experience is great. Outside of that I unfortunately wouldn't say that I enjoyed the gen ed portion of this school as much. There were professors and classes that stood out but there was a large amount where they wouldn't communicate or help me with my work (usually asynchronous courses). Graduate Student: Overall, I will say my time at PennWest has many positives and negatives. To start with the good, I will say that I had wonderful professors in the communication sciences and disorders program. I felt like they were always available to answer my questions, considerate, and encouraged making connections. Another great thing I experienced is being a member of the Honors Program. I liked the opportunities of completing addendums, working with professors, and being able to apply more information. There were also some negative. For one, campus life is very dull, there aren't many people out a lot of the time and the surrounding area does not have much to do either without traveling at least 20 minutes. Food was also hard to tolerate sometimes, but the food staff was wonderful. There were few healthy, consistent, and tasty items. Sophomore: My time at the University of South Carolina Beaufort has definitely had its ups and downs. The connections I have made from just one year of classes there has been incredible and I have met some people that I hope I stay in touch with for the rest of my life. The dorms are also to die for, they are apartment style and each student gets their own room, bathrooms, and washer and dryer, so basically a college students dream. The only issues I have found have been very small, but weren’t preferable for the duration of said incidents. I was mainly concerned with some of the professors’s approaches to teaching certain things. Like when the final for a public communications class was online, not in front of any kind of public. Or when, in a class that requires participation, the teacher leaves no room in the class time scheduled for participation of any kind. There are usually no big parties and student life is pretty quiet unless you are involved in the various clubs that are hosted here. Parking also gets packed in the commuter lots, however the farthest parking lot to the main building is only a 10 minute walk. Something to add here that I tell a lot of new students is that public safety tends to be strict with their parking permits and policies, so make sure you have a guest pass or a permit! Although it is a small campus, you are provided with beautiful scenery and incredibly convenient placement. If you take a 7 minute drive down the highway, there are supermarkets, restaurants, and clothing stores for your college needs. Junior: My experience has been great here at East Texas Baptist University. I have encountered a diverse group of people that make up the student body. I've learned more about handling all kinds of people with different backgrounds, career paths, and outlooks on faith with consideration. This school has taught me determination to meet deadlines for assignments, study groups, practices/meets. Also, the responsibility of balancing a very hectic schedule. Being at this school has helped me focus on obeying God and putting His word into my daily life. My personal relationship with Jesus Christ is deeper today. I think the only thing I would like to see change here would be better opportunity available for ones who may not have the resources to be a part of this wonderful community.... Read 476 reviews

Sophomore: My first year at University of Kentucky was great. There were many events to help the freshman, including myself to get involved with the many things the university provides. The first week before classes started was known as K-Week where many different activities were hosted by many of the University's associations, meeting new friends and gain familiar faces. Campus nis very welcoming and provided a safe experience. Throughout the school year many associations provided activities to all years to bring out joy during a busy school year. Football, baseball, and basketball allowed be to experience how prideful the school is and how a very diverse community can come together to support the thing we all love and enjoy.... Sophomore: I absolutely love this college! Not only is the campus beautiful from all of the flowers but it’s also very welcoming! The staff are friendly and help with any questions or issues. Even the dorms are clean with lots of potential! I always had full access to A/C and heat which made living here comfortable. Also Slippery Rock had just adjusted the internet all over campus to be more accessible for students. Another part of the campus that I enjoy is the wide range of activities. Slippery rock has their own app called Corq, that shows all the times and activities that are happening on campus. This makes weekends never boring and It helps with staying active. A favorite of mine is the wide variety of food options here on campus. A common issue for most colleges is food boredom but with Slippery Rock I haven’t had that problem! The food is priced at decent prices and I even sometimes have more money left over by the end of the semester. Slippery Rock gave me a safe home away from home.... Read 1,638 reviews
