I'm really surprised at how engaging online learning can be! The professors in the graphic design program at Full Sail are fantastic. They provide clear video lectures packed with information and real-world examples. The discussion forums are also a great resource – it's been awesome connecting with classmates from all over the world and sharing our design ideas. Even though I miss the traditional classroom setting a bit, the flexibility of online learning lets me work on projects at my own pace, which is a huge plus for a busy first-year student.
There was a friendly, open vibe about the campus. Its expansive site, featuring both contemporary structures and historic oaks, promoted learning and a sense of community. In addition to being our teachers, professors also served as mentors, leading us on intellectual adventures. The library was a haven of information that greeted both early risers and those who came in late. Young curiosity and excitement hummed around every corner. It provided countless opportunities for development and discovery, from active student groups to cutting-edge labs. Most significantly, it was a place where ideas, friendships, and goals came to life—a true sanctuary for individuals who were ready to pursue higher education.
My experience with Full Sail University's on-campus film degree program was a mix of highs and lows. The hands-on approach to learning was incredibly valuable, allowing me to gain practical skills directly applicable to the industry. However, the lack of on-campus housing options in Winter Park was a significant drawback, making it challenging to find affordable and convenient accommodation. The open enrollment policy also meant that classes mostly included students with varying levels of experience and dedication, which could be frustrating in collaborative projects. Despite these challenges, the program provided me with essential industry insights and a strong foundation in filmmaking.
