Florida Atlantic University Reviews
Rating 3.66 out of 5 5,003 reviews
I love how accepting and understanding the professors are of accommodating their students with disabilities. As a person with autism and adhd, the on campus health and counseling services have been extremely helping and beneficial in my success at Florida Atlantic. As for things I would like to see change; the student housing could be better. I know of some students who had to stay in local hotels due to lack of space in on campus housing. Also, parking could definitely be improved. There is often construction and not enough parking spaces. I have had to leave campus and miss class due to there being no parking. The campus is large and walking a mile to get to your class is a little overbearing. Other than that, FAU has been an amazing college so far! I am excited for my upcoming year as a junior and am looking forward to classes starting this fall!
Florida Atlantic University immerses students into a diverse learning environment with endless opportunities. After graduating with my bachelor's degree in business administration in finance from FAU, I will give insight into the pros and cons of the university. The faculty and staff are definitely a pro. The staff at FAU is top tier due to their willingness to help and want for you to succeed. As a year-round division I student-athlete, I am so grateful that I had such accommodating professors. The location of the campus is another pro. FAU is positioned about 3 miles away from the beach. The beach is a cost-free activity that my friends and I took advantage of on a weekly basis. That leads me into a con about FAU. FAU does not have the liveliest campus. There are not tons of activities and on the weekends the campus is desolate. For me, having a car was crucial due to the lack of events and students on campus. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at FAU and I hope this review helps!
So far I’ve only been on campus once, because I’m doing my first semester online but I am planning on being on campus next semester. So far I do like it! The only thing that could be worked on is the communication. There are so many times that I’ve tried to contact them and they never responded or not giving me enough information or wrong information. Like my advisor told me I had to take a foreign language class and when I asked her If I couldn’t just take a test to meet the requirement she said no. Later on, I found out I could in fact do the test instead of taking 4 credits and paying over 3,000 dollars for the class. Unfortunately, when I found out it was too late to drop the class without consequences.
